As a music educator, I believe that a strong foundation of the fundamental elements of music is necessary to excel as a performer and to appreciate music as an audience member. I have had the opportunity to teach students at both ends of their educational journey. As a professor of music at the University of Denver for seven years, I was able to see how strong, but also sometimes how deficient, students were in music fundamentals. That is why during my six years at Fatima, it has been my mission to empower students to speak about and perform music and drama passionately.
I have performed with a variety of ensembles, including the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, The Cabrillo Festival Orchestra, Opera Colorado, Denver Opera, OLF Baroque Orchestra, and the Da Vinci String Quartet. I can be heard on the OLF Baroque CD recordings 415, Magnificat, and Heavenly Country, and am featured on a soon-to-be released CD/DVD project with musicians from CU Boulder.
Outside of the classroom, I am the principal accompanist and organist at Blessed Sacrament Church and run a private piano and ukelele studio.
