Our Commitment to Excellence

The Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Seattle provide excellent academics, qualified teachers who respect each child’s individuality, and opportunities to be involved and to get to know other students and parents. Our atmosphere of Christian values and Catholic social justice fosters compassion and community service.

Our Lady of Fatima is committed to educating the whole child through a range of academic, spiritual, extracurricular, and athletic opportunities. Catholic teachings and principles are evident throughout the school. We use sound assessment processes, such as MAP testing for grades two to eight, to collect and analyze data in support of the high achievement of our students. Teachers create learning groups and employ differentiated instruction within their classrooms to support the needs of individual students. Where needed, the school’s multi-sensory learning specialist works with students to further ensure their success, and a math specialist supports students in reaching success in all standards. Learning targets the connection of the Common Core State Standards with our own school-wide learning expectations.

Nearly all of our graduating eighth grade students are accepted by at least one Catholic high school. Many enter their freshman year in honors classes. Our faculty consistently takes advantage of professional development opportunities to improve classroom instruction. We are accredited by the Western Catholic Educational Association and hold membership with the National Catholic Educational Association, ASCD (formerly the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development), and the Washington Association of School Principals.
